Titleist 712 AP2 Irons 3-9P for sale
Titleist irons and Titleist drivers are among the top three golf clubs. Both the irons and drivers come in many different styles that produce different ball flights, spin rates, and sizes. They have tour heads which are a little bit smaller than the average club head and oversized clubs for the higher handicap players.
Titleist's first AP irons debuted in 2007, and the latest iteration includes a "712" stamp on the hosel, as visible in the image above. The "AP" stands for "advanced performance" and represents the effort of Titleist designers to engineer irons that combine both workability and forgiveness without deviating too far from the look of traditional irons.
To that end, the 712 AP1 and AP2 irons both incorporate high-density tungsten internal weighting to help boost MOI but without changing the center-of-gravity location (keeping CG the same distance from the shaft axis) or blade length.
Both sets, Titleist says, have been "significantly upgraded" for additional forgiveness and higher ball speeds. The 712 Series AP1 irons are aimed at the "aspiring to skilled golfer" and offer more forgiveness relative to the AP2; the 712 AP2 irons are targeted at highly skilled golfers and are forged.
